14th March Spreadsheet Exam

My strategy is:

First I will import the data onto another sheet and link the data to the timetable sheet.

I add the amount of people in each place to the team sheet

To look at the places I need to go, and then begin planning a route on the map. Then using them to try out a route and if it doesn't work then adjust until it does.

It's very vague, she doesn't actually say how she chooses a route or how the route is planned. It also seems to be very trial and error with no real explanation as to how we adjust the route to ensure that it works the 2nd...3rd...4th, etc route.

If I was unfamilar with the scenario and the data I would feel rather intimidated as it is a fiarly difficult task and yet this strategy is vague and doesn't actually say what the strategy is, instead it really only says what she was doing rather than how she did what she did. I'd probably be a little annoyed as it's not very helpful and drawing the routes onto the map quickly leads to a scrawled mess on the paper rather than a working route.

I'd say that it's a fairly inefficient solution which relies partly on luck and isn't all that effective. Compared to my strategy it's a bit too brief and needs to be more detailed in explaning exactly what her strategy was. It's entirely possible that this method could either result in a rather fast finish or a very slow time of completion.

Strengths:

Firstly your strategy is clear and easy to follow. Nobody wants to read chunks of writing on how to do something and therefore I believe that your strategy is easy to understand as it is simple and short.

Weakness:

I think that your strategy could be more detailed. It doesn't really talk about the starting time of the drivers, how there is a cut off point, or the time in which you need to be back at Crawley for, this would certainly help the user who is trying to work out a start-out time.

If I were new to the model I think that i could get lost. (I am going to be picky) and say that you could state the data that needs to be imported. Furthermore if I had never come across a spreadsheet before I may not know not to add the amount of people in each place to the team sheet. You could also add more details into how to plan the route, for example I could plan to go Ipswich and then to Southampton. You also need to state how to add the 5 minutes onto each destination, for the driver.

I think that our strategy's are very similar, we both plan out our work on the map, working out the route. My strategy is also simple and easy to read as I don't like reading chunks of writing either.
